An introduction to the Estuary Centre’s therapeutic service for children

Welcome to the first Estuary Centre blog!

My name is Chris Bennett and I am the Head of Therapy at The Estuary Centre.

The Estuary Centre is a community based therapy centre, specializing in treatment intervention to children who have experienced trauma and young people who have exhibited harmful or problematic sexual behaviour. The centre provides a range of specialist therapeutic services including assessment, individual therapy, group work programs, systemic interventions, training and consultation. We provide individualised treatment programs utilising a range of therapeutic theories and practice interventions.

Every month I will be posting a blog related to the therapeutic work and training undertaken by The Estuary Centre. The blog will highlight relevant theory, practice and research in working with childhood trauma and harmful sexual behaviour. Additionally the Estuary Centre blog will offer thoughts and practical ideas regarding therapy with vulnerable and troubled children, including reference to interventions we provide, both within our community work and our treatment interventions for Kites Children’s Services and Mosaic Foster Care.

The Estuary Centre is keen to answer any questions you might have regarding the work we do, discuss potential referrals and engage in discussion regarding therapeutic work with children and young people.

We look forward to working with you.
